TVNZ heard the nation’s cry and last week, after Rebel Wilson’s Super Fun Night at 8.30pm, New Zealand was treated to the first episode of Brooklyn Nine Nine at 9pm.
The award-winning sitcom follows a the (fictional) 99th precinct’s team of detectives and deadpanned faced captain, boasting an excellent cast great writing.
Tonight’s episode sees a tardy Peralta (Andy Samberg) assigned to a graffiti case he thinks is below him by Captain Holt (Andre Braugher). When the suspect happens to be the Deputy Commissioner’s smartarse son, Peralta makes it his mission to end him. Not really, just go watch it, okay?
Also, Gina’s (Chelsea Peretti) psychic friend visits the precinct and gets into Boyles’ (Joe Lo Truglio) head which yields hilarious moments. Especially when pitted against the scepticism (read as outright mockery) from Detectives Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) and Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero). Terry Crews as Sargeant Terence ‘Terry’ Jeffords is funny as ever.
You can catch it tonight at 9pm on TV2 and we suggest you do because not only is it hilarious and you don’t want to miss out on a cure for your Monday blues, but you won’t be able to catch it on demand. But trust me, you don’t want to miss an episode- because we’ll sick Rosa on you. And you definitely don’t want that.
I feel mad love for this show! It is sweet and hilarious with one of best cast ensembles I’ve witnessed in a long time. Glad to know you guys feel the same!
YESSSSS, they mesh so well I can hardly believe it.
Their comedic timing is spot on and I laugh at 9 outta 10 of the gags.
